One outcome is a research framework that contrasts common but ineffective teaching and learning approaches based on imitation of procedures with more effective learning through creative reasoning utilizing the potential of mathematics. The framework has been applied in analyses of learning processes, in quasi-experiments testing more efficient task designs and in design research developing teacher support for students in need of help with their problem-solving.

The conference welcomes researchers in mathematics education, teacher educators, teachers, as well as others with an interest in mathematics education research.

The conference opens 16.00 January 27 and closes 17.00 January 28

The conference welcomes researchers in mathematics education, teacher educators, teachers, as well as others with an interest in mathematics education research.

Call for papers (obs ny deadline)

Guidelines for authors

Paper template – Full paper

Paper template – Short communication

Program

Registration for MADIF15 is now closed

M A D I F – 15 The fifteenth research conference in mathematics education Gothenburg January 27–28, 2026 Welcome to the fifteenth research conference of the Swedish society for research in mathematics education (SMDF).
